Put Out into the Deep

This week, we’re planning BCF’s first Confident Witness retreat, to help LGBT/SSA+ people become the mentors and guides we all wish we’d had.
Confident Witnesses!
This August, BCF will hold our first Confident Witness retreat, to form people for greater leadership in their local communities. This retreat is for LGBT/SSA+ Catholics who embrace Church teaching in full. (We are planning other retreats that will cast a wider net, in terms of both identity and belief!)
We’ll help you prepare spiritually and emotionally for the challenges of leadership in this area, share what BCF has learned about the spiritual journeys of gay Catholics, and offer plenty of fellowship and prayerful reflection.
If you (or someone you know) are...
then Confident Witness may be just what you’re looking for.
Through lectio divina, workshops, prayer and silent reflection, and group discussions, you’ll explore how others have answered when they’re asked, “Wait, you’re gay and Catholic? How does that work?” And you’ll learn how to invite those life-changing conversations, becoming the kind of person people turn to with questions about how God sees gay people.
If you’re interested in hearing more, fill out the interest form. We’re choosing among a short list of locations, so be sure to let us know where you are—and please...
Forward this newsletter to anyone else you know who might want to be involved and ask them to complete the interest form!
The finalized dates and location will be announced in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, you can leave them at the interest form.
Get in touch also if you want us to come to your community, or if you would like to sponsor attendees or an entire retreat!
Your Prayers and Ours
Please pray for the Holy Father, and for unity in the Church.
Pray for graduating seniors and their families!
And please pray for abundant confidence and overflowing grace in the lives of the mentors and witnesses in your community.
